Bell Media has acquired rights for Canada, and Nova Broadcasting Group has acquired free TV rights for Bulgaria.

Electric Entertainment also has closed deals in two additional territories for broadcast and digital rights to seasons 1 and 2 of its original series “The Ark.” The second season of the popular sci-fi series had its premiere on SYFY in July 2024. One deal is with Palatin Media and the other, with Nova Broadcasting Group. Palatin Media has acquired SVOD and FAST rights in German-speaking Europe, while Nova has nabbed free TV rights for Bulgaria.

Also at MIPCOM, Electric Entertainment announced it has closed four new broadcast and digital rights deals across multiple territories for its popular crime drama “Almost Paradise,” which stars long-time Electric Entertainment collaborator and star, Christian Kane. The deals include Talpa TV for free TV rights in the Netherlands; WAKO Japan for VOD and TV rights; Eleven Entertainment in Korea for pay TV and VOD, and Blue Entertainment for VOD in French-speaking Switzerland.

“The Librarians: The Next Chapter” is a spinoff series of the original TV series “The Librarians.” The new series centers on a librarian from the past who time- traveled to the present and now finds himself stuck here. When he returns to his castle, which is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent. He is given a new team to help him clean up the mess he made, forming a new team of Librarians.

“The Ark” takes place 100 years in the future, at a time when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event, causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew struggles to stay on course and survive.

“Almost Paradise,” currently sreaming on Amazon’s Freevee in the U.S., follows Alex Walker (Kane), a former U.S. DEA agent who was forced into early retirement and has moved to a small tropical island in the Philippine Archipelago, where he runs the gift shop for a luxury resort on the island. = The resort sometimes attracts criminal elite from around the world, and despite his best efforts to live a tranquil life, Alex is pulled back into the world he was trying to escape.
