‘The Bunker,’ One of Tony Todd’s Final Films, Lands Distribution
Dean Devlin's Electric Entertainment is planning a release for the horror feature that also stars Tobin Bell and Chelsea Edmundson.
The Bunker, a sci-fi horror feature led by the late Tony Todd, is getting ready to head out into the world.
Electric Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to the movie that hails from Jackrabbit Media. Helmed by Brian Hanson (The Black String), the film stars Todd, Tobin Bell (the Saw franchise), Chad Michael Collins (Sniper: Rogue Mission) and Chelsea Edmundson (The Iron Claw).
The Bunker centers on Dr. Michelle Riley (Edmundson), a young scientist sealed in a secret bunker with a team of researchers tasked with developing a weapon to stop an alien invasion. However, Riley begins to have doubts about the true goal of the mission. A trailer exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter can be seen below.
A release date and plan for distribution platforms have not yet been announced for The Bunker, which premiered at last year’s Popcorn Frights Film Festival. Electric Entertainment coordinator of sales and acquisitions Addie Booth and Jackrabbit Media president of worldwide sales and acquisitions Mark Padilla negotiated the deal.
“The Bunker fits seamlessly into Electric’s repertoire of films,” says the company’s CEO, Dean Devlin. “It combines alien-induced sci-fi elements with a compelling horror twist. Fans of these genres will surely find this engaging and thrilling movie enjoyable.”
Adds Padilla, “We are thrilled to be working with Dean Devlin and his incredible team at Electric Entertainment. Their excellence in producing and distributing engaging TV series and films in this genre makes them the ideal partner for the release of The Bunker.”
Among Electric’s forthcoming projects is One Big Happy Family, which stars Linda Lavin and is set for theatrical release this fall.
Todd, who is known for roles in such films as Candyman and Final Destination, died at age 69 on Nov. 6, 2024, following a long illness. He appeared posthumously in Werewolf Game, which hit theaters in January, and has a role in next month’s Final Destination: Bloodlines.
