BARRY CHAMBERLAIN

Chief Operating Officer

Barry Chamberlain is a global media executive with over 30 years’ experience in the media and entertainment industry. He has expertise in global management, revenue generation, content distribution and marketing strategies, business development, M&A, and integrations.

He is currently on the Board of vVoosh Ltd. (“vuh-voosh”), a startup lifestyle platform built on experiences that connects people, through their personal interests, with brands and businesses. Is a Senior Advisor to Vabble, a pioneering OTT streaming service that leverages blockchain technology to empower content creators and rights holders with complete control over content distribution, monetization, and audience engagement.  Barry was Chief Operating Officer at Productivity Media, Inc. (PMI) responsible for core lending business operations and strategic partnerships for the content producer/financier, and he has consulted to media and entertainment businesses through BC Global LLC.

Most notably, Barry spent 21 years at CBS and Paramount, ending as President, Sales for Paramount Global where he oversaw the international monetization of industry leading television and feature film content from CBS, Showtime, and Paramount. He led the division’s explosive growth in annual revenues and negotiated notable multiyear content partnerships with diverse media partners, including global video on-demand players, market-leading broadcasters, and subscription platforms.  He led a top-tier global operation with a staff of more than 120 employees located across 19 countries. He was a board member or advisor on joint venture channels, including Premium Movie Partnership (Australia), TV1 (Australia), Eleven (Australia), CBS/AMC (UK & EMEA), BigCBS (India), RTLCBS (Pan Asia), Telecine (Brazil).

Barry has collaborated with corporate deal teams on international M&A business cases and overall investment strategy and is experienced in pre- and post-merger integrations.  He implemented technology solutions and as an expert in intellectual property licensing, reviewed and/or approved more than 5,000 annual deals/transactions across 225 territories.  Recognized as a global leader, Barry has a strong knowledge of the global media landscape with a unique ability to understand and appreciate the nuances of conducting business around the world. He has developed an extraordinarily strong network with key media decision-makers in all parts of the world. He is exceptionally skilled in cross-cultural communications, with proficiency in French and Spanish. 

Prior to his role as President, Barry was Senior Vice President, Sales at CBS Paramount International Television where he oversaw sales offices for Latin America, Asia, and Australia, and directly handled content licensing in Japan. He successfully integrated Paramount and CBS feature film and television content offering of more than 60,000 hours into a single unified international sales team. In addition, he negotiated key multiyear output deals in Australia, New Zealand, and Pan Asia. Before that, Barry was Vice President, Sales at CBS Broadcast International and earlier, Director, International Sales Planning at Universal Studios.

Barry earned a Master of Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an International Relations emphasis from UC Santa Barbara.
